Coastal Discovery Museum
The Coastal Discovery Museum on Hilton Head Island is located on a 69-acre plantation property with multiple historic structures and is bordered on three sides by marshes and wetlands. In 2004, Quatrefoil created an expansion Master Plan to provide a road map for the museum’s move to this site.
In 2007, we completed the installation of 1,500 square feet of interior exhibits on display in the historic Main House and 14 interpretive way-finding signs across the site.
In the historic house and throughout the grounds, the exhibitry illuminates Gullah history and culture, the fragile nature of the coastal environment, island life, modern development and nature. Exhibits are complemented by indoor and outdoor interactives, graphics, demonstration areas and educational research facilities.
