Quatrefoil’s New Look

In response to Quatrefoil studio changes — new leadership, new location — as well as the larger changes within the museum community, we decided it was time for a new Quatrefoil look. The rebranding process included a series of interviews with recent clients, brainstorming sessions led by the firm’s new Partners and a series of design meetings with Quatrefoil’s in-house graphic designers.

The design challenge was to put a unique and modern spin on the company’s 30-year-old logomark. The result features circles that represent Quatrefoil’s primary service areas — planning, design, interactives, project management. The intersection of the circles reinforces the interdisciplinary nature of the company and speaks to a core value: collaboration. Visit our website or our AAM booth (1132) to check out our new vibe!

Are there any better springtime activities than exploring a local park or historic site or going to a ballgame? Quatrefoil was on-site for the April 3 Grand Opening of the Miller’s House at Colvin Run Mill Historic Site (Fairfax County Park Authority) in Fairfax, Va. Quatrefoil developed a graphic look and feel for projected interpretive panels for two rooms, one reflecting life in the 1810s and the other, the 1890s. Quatrefoil also designed artifact guides and game instruction cards for each room, and outdoor interpretive panels and wayfinding signage.

Later that same week, the FIS Champions Club opened at Nationals Park. Quatrefoil designed high-end exhibit cases and interpretive and environmental graphics for the new FIS Champions Club, which features the club’s collection of memorabilia and trophies from its inaugural season to its 2019 World Series title and beyond. https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/whats-new-at-nationals-park-this-season/3018396/

Earlier this month, “Our Changing Waterfront,” the new permanent exhibit at the Annapolis Maritime Museum recently was honored with the Excellence in Public Programming Award from Maryland Historical Trust, a state agency dedicated to preserving and interpreting the legacy of Maryland’s past. The exhibit connects residents and visitors with Annapolis’ maritime heritage and the ecology of the Chesapeake Bay.

In April, “Becoming Chester County,” the new Chester County History Center permanent exhibit — designed by Quatrefoil — was honored with a 2022 Special Achievement Award by PA Museums, Pennsylvania’s statewide trade association serving museum professionals and institutions.
